I've been working on these on and off for a while, and I think they're finally at a stopping point. I'm not convinced that they're finished, but they're close and in any case I'm going to wait until things settle down after graduation to re-asses them because I'm working on a few new big things.
Love these Christina!
ReplyDeleteI know how frustrating it can be to be trying to feed off feedback while trying to stay true to your own vision of your work. I had a residency in Montréal last September and January, had a mentorship with a new-media teacher from Concordia and then had a show to put up with two other artists a few months after. I really tried to please (I realized afterwards) the sort of new-media oriented direction that my mentor had seemed to try and influence me to work towards. Unfortunately, I wasn't all that happy with myself afterwards. My conclusion : sometimes you don't get feedback from the RIGHT people. Feedback is good, but sometimes following it means losing yourself in someone else's trail. Just keep going.
TOTES. I really can't think of anything more intelligent than that right now!
